University of Alberta Press

UAlberta Press is a contemporary, award-winning publisher of scholarly and creative books distinguished by their editorial care, exceptional design, and global reach.

The University of Alberta established its press in 1969 to serve two key communities—the academic and the regional—and since that time, UAlberta Press has been committed to disseminating important scholarly research and nonfiction emanating from these communities to readers everywhere. In ensuing years, the Press expanded its mandate to include literary writing and other Canadian and international authors.

UAlberta Press has created a distinct publishing program that is recognized annually with a host of provincial, national, and international awards. We publish critical scholarly and literary books that engage, challenge, and provoke, and seek to provide a platform for a wide range of voices that reflect the contemporary Canadian West: urban, cosmopolitan, and diverse.
